The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec announced Thursday the appointment of Rana Ghorayeb as executive vice-president and head of real estate starting April 29.

Ghorayeb is currently president and CEO of Otéra Capital, a subsidiary of CDPQ specializing in real estate loans. She previously worked for JP Morgan Asset Management, in London, and for TIAA, an American pension fund, in New York.
According to CDPQ president and CEO Charles Emond, Ghorayeb has “successfully” led Otéra’s “profound transformation since joining five years ago, and headed the portfolio’s growth and diversification strategy, which has made Otéra a major player in North America.”
Ivanhoé Cambridge’s activities are currently being integrated, so this team will become an investment group at CDPQ when Ghorayeb takes up her new role.
Ghorayeb’s appointment coincides with the departure of Nathalie Palladitcheff, who the organization announced in January would leave in April. She will remain in position until the end of “the gradual transition period.”
