Air Canada adds nonstop Montreal to Dubrovnik
Air Canada will launch seasonal flights from Montreal to Dubrovnik starting May 2027, using a 255-seat Dreamliner. This marks the first direct Canada-Dubrovnik link in over 40 years. The airline aims to capture North American transit traffic through its Montreal hub.
The new route operates three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with outbound departures at 6:15 PM and arrivals at 8:30 AM next day. Air Canada chose the Boeing 787-8 for its efficiency and passenger comfort. The service replaces previous indirect connections and fills a gap left since JAT’s 1983 flights ended.
Dubrovnik currently draws around 170,000 North American travelers annually, most connecting via Europe. Air Canada expects to tap into U.S. markets like New York and Chicago through Montreal transfers. United remains the only other carrier offering nonstop North American service to Dubrovnik, from Newark.
Travelers from eastern Canada gain direct access to Croatia’s Adriatic coast without European layovers. Passengers from major U.S. hubs can now connect via Montreal, potentially lowering total travel time and cost compared to current multi-leg itineraries.
